May Newsletter: Don’t start May without reading this
I’m excited to officially launch this part of our blog series—our monthly newsletter.
This will be your go-to space for a quick overview of everything happening each month, along with helpful insights, updates, and key things to keep on your radar. Think of it as a simple way to stay connected, stay informed, and circle back to anything you want to explore further.
May is a busy month with plenty going on—both in and out of the clinic—so let’s jump right in.
Clinic Introduction:
I know we have some new friends and faces here this month, so I want to start by sharing a brief introduction about myself and Kinvara Chiropractic.
Hi! I’m Dr. Zinke, owner and chiropractor here at Kinvara. I’ve been practicing for just over 3 years in the Greater Charlotte area as a chiropractor and sports medicine physician, and I’m currently continuing my education in the functional medicine space to deepen my approach to whole-body health.
Outside of the clinic, I’m a field hockey coach and I love running, cycling, and spending time with my family. And if I’m not doing any of that, there’s a good chance my nose is in a book.
But enough about me.
Kinvara Chiropractic & Functional Health was created to be your go-to space for health and wellness in Charlotte. I opened Kinvara with the intention of building a welcoming, supportive environment where people feel empowered to take control of their health.
Our focus is simple: chiropractic care, movement, longevity, and long-term wellness—helping you not just feel better, but function better in your everyday life.
Office Updates & Happenings:
We will be closed May 25th in observance of Memorial day but will be open all day on May 26th.
If this affects your regularly scheduled appointments, please reach out via text or call 980.819.1749. You can also chat with us at your next appointment.
Community
May is a strong month for community health awareness, and we’re taking part in that momentum.
This month includes:
National Mental Health Awareness Month
Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8th)
To support our teachers and educators this month we will be offering stress-relief pop ups at the local schools. This includes a free 7-10 minute chair massage for teachers and staff. If you think your school could benefit from this event please reach out to via email at kinvarafunctionalhealth@gmail.com. There are limited spots left!!!!
Mother’s Day
In honor of Mother’s Day, we’re encouraging you to refer the mothers in your life to Kinvara for a complimentary consultation and exam. Our goal is to help them feel their best, supported, and cared for this spring season.
EMS Week (May 18-22)
This week, Dr. Z will be visiting local EMS facilities with small tokens of appreciation for our first responders.
In addition, we are offering free consultations and exams throughout the month of May for EMS professionals as a thank-you for their service to our community.
If you know a business, school, or individual who could benefit from any of these initiatives, we’d love an introduction.
At Kinvara, community care is at the heart of what we do—and Dr. Z is always excited to stay active and involved locally.
This Month’s Feature Movements:
Every week, we highlight a new movement on social media to help you move better, feel better, and function at your best.
Here’s what we’re focusing on this May:
Cat-Cow
Lateral Banded Walks
Thoracic Extension (foam roller)
Glute Bridge March
Be sure to check back each week to learn a new movement on Movement Monday!
Wellness Marker of the Month:
Each month, we take a focused, in-depth look at a key wellness marker to better understand the root causes behind common symptoms and long-term health patterns.
In May, we are exploring progesterone—a foundational hormone that plays a critical role in regulating mood, supporting recovery, balancing stress, and maintaining overall physiological stability.
Throughout this feature, we’ll examine its function, why it matters, and how imbalances can subtly influence how you feel and perform in your daily life.
Our full deep dive will be available on the blog May 15.

We invite you to take a moment to explore it—understanding your body at this level is a powerful step toward more intentional, informed health.
